SHEILA MCKAIN-WAID

DAKS HEAD OF WOMENSWEAR AND ACCESSORIES

Sheila McKain- Waid is head of womenswear and accessories at DAKS. American born, Sheila studied for a degree in Textile Design at the University of Kansas and then went on to study Apparel Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Sheila worked in New York, designing both womenswear and accessories for such prestigious brands as Donna Karan, Halston and Oscar de la Renta. She later relocated to the UK and joined DAKS in 2010.

Her designs combine American simplicity and elegance, with a European sense of timelessness and luxury. Whilst at DAKS, not only is she head of womenswear and accessories for London, she is also giving direction to the Asian licensees, working in conjunction with them to promote the brand Worldwide.

The Autumn Winter 2013 show marks Sheila’s fourth collection for DAKS at London Fashion Week.



FILIPPO SCUFFI

DAKS CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Filippo studied at Harvard in the early 1980s before moving on to the School of Fashion Psychology at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where he was awarded a Master’s Degree in 1993.For the next two years he was Assistant Designer at Donna Karan, working on the menswear line and collaborating directly with Ms Karan. He then became Visual Merchandising Manager for Ralph Lauren, helping to develop menswear collections for four seasons. He was personal assistant to the designer Michael Kors for the first year of his tenure as creative director for the Celine label.

Filippo began his career at DAKS in 2005, when he started supervising the creation of the DAKS Little line for children. He subsequently curated other collections for the historic English label, such as the DAKS Golf sportswear line and the E1 menswear second line. Thanks to the great success enjoyed by the company, in 2010 he was then made creative director for the first-line DAKS menswear and womenswear collections. This marked DAKS’ big comeback on the London catwalks.
